Our story

We saw search changing before most businesses did.

Recometric was born from years of SEO experience, and a growing realization that AI is quietly rewriting how businesses are discovered online. This page is who builds it, and what it actually measures.

Chapter 01 · The Early Days

Before AI, there was the search bar.

Long before ChatGPT entered the conversation, our founder Botond Balog spent years inside search: he built SEOKLIKK Kft. in Hungary, working with local businesses on how they get found.

That company is the same one behind Recometric today. What it sells here is this software and nothing else: a subscription that measures your AI visibility. No campaigns, no retainers, no work delivered by hand.

Years were spent in spreadsheets and SERPs. Auditing sites at 2am. Watching small businesses go from invisible to indispensable in their cities. Search was the gateway to discovery, and we knew how to open it.

Chapter 02 · The Shift

Then AI changed search.

ChatGPT didn’t just change how people typed questions. It changed how people decide. Customers started asking AI assistants for recommendations the way they once asked friends, and businesses started asking us a brand-new question:

Why are competitors appearing in AI answers?

Why isn’t AI recommending us?

Where did our traffic actually go?

The Problem

Most businesses are still optimizing for yesterday’s internet.

AI doesn’t rank pages. It makes judgments. It weighs what the open web says about you, how consistent your story is, and whether real humans seem to trust you. Traditional SEO alone isn’t enough anymore.

Yesterday

Optimizing for crawlers

  • Keyword density
  • Backlink counts
  • Page-1 rankings
  • Meta tag tweaks
Today

Optimizing for recommendation

  • Trust
  • Authority
  • Consistency
  • Reputation
  • Recommendation signals

Chapter 03 · The Birth of Recometric

So we built the instrument that was missing.

Nobody could answer those three questions, because nothing was measuring the surface they were about. Analytics cannot see an answer that produced no click. Rank trackers watch a results page that the customer never reached.

Recometric asks the questions instead. Buyer questions in your category and your area, never containing your business name, put to 4 assistants at once, and then read for three things: whether you were named, where you sat in the order, and how you were described.

Everything the product claims about you comes back to a stored answer somebody could read for themselves. That constraint is the product.

What we measure

One number, and the receipts behind it.

A score you cannot take apart is an opinion with a number painted on it. Every input to yours is stored on your own scan: each assistant’s figure, the share it was given, the website findings and the local evidence. You can rebuild the number without us.

4 assistants, identical questions

ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude receive the same strings, so a difference between them is a difference in them and not in how we asked.

Your name is never in the question

Name an assistant’s subject and it will talk about that subject. A measurement prompt that contains your business name measures our prompt, not your visibility.

Three readings from every answer

Were you named, where did you sit when the answer was ordered, and how were you described. Nothing is inferred that the answer did not contain.

Verifiable evidence alongside opinion

Your website audit and your public Google Business Profile are kept as separate components, and the Google component is capped at 30% so a listing can never stand in for AI visibility itself.

Our Mission

Helping businesses stay discoverable.

We exist to give every local business a fair shot at being recommended by AI, no matter their budget, agency, or technical know-how.

Built for the businesses that are not enterprises

Most AI visibility tooling is priced and shaped for large brands with a team to run it. This is built for an owner with an hour a week.

Say what was measured, and what was not

A component we could not verify is shown as absent rather than filled in with a plausible number. Absent and zero are different states and they render differently.

Move when the surface moves

Assistants change, and so does what they read. The measurement is versioned so that a change in our method is visible rather than silently baked into your trend.

One number, then one next action

The score exists to be acted on. Every paid scan comes with a prioritized list of what to fix, ordered by what the measurement actually found; a free scan returns the grade and its website findings by email.

Where we draw lines

What Recometric will not do.

The useful half of any measurement product is the list of things it refuses to claim. Here is ours, in plain terms.

We do not promise a position

Nobody controls what an assistant answers. We can tell you what it answered, what evidence sits behind that, and what to change. A guaranteed placement would be a guess sold as a result.

We do not invent missing data

If your Google listing cannot be resolved, or an assistant did not answer, the result says so by leaving the component out. A gap filled with something plausible is the most expensive kind of lie.

We do not score silence as failure

An assistant that fails to answer carries no weight in your number at all. Being punished for our supplier’s bad morning is not a measurement of your business.

We do not sell services here

SEOKLIKK Kft. trades as Recometric on this domain, and what it sells here is this subscription software. No campaigns, no retainers, no work delivered by hand.

The road ahead

The future of search will be recommendation-driven.

AI assistants. Conversational discovery. Trust-based recommendation engines. The next decade of search won’t be about who ranks #1: it will be about who gets named when an AI decides to recommend.
